Spencer Barden is a former international athlete with more than 30 representative caps for Great Britain & Northern Ireland and England. Over a fifteen year period he has competed at track, road and cross country events around the world, including six IAAF World Cross Country Championships and two European Cross Country Championships.
Following his athletics career, he spent 12 years working for British Athletics, the governing body for athletics in the UK. His roles included athlete development and major championship logistics and operations for events including the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games (2008) and multiple IAAF World Athletics Championships, IAAF World Cross Country Championships and European Cross Country Championships.
He spent four years as Assistant Meeting Director for London Diamond League (now known as London Anniversary Games) and Birmingham Diamond League, British Indoor Grand Prix and the five nations International Match and went on to become Athlete Liaison Director.
He is currently the Head of Elite Athletes at London Marathon Events, the Head of Athlete Recruitment for British Athletics and will be the INEOS 1:59 Challenge Head of Pacemakers.
