INEOS 1:59 Pace Challenge

In October 2019, Eliud Kipchoge made history completing a 1:59:40.2 marathon, it was a triumph of human performance, sports, science and technology. It cemented Eliud’s mantra that NoHumanIsLimited.
As part of this legacy, Eliud and INEOS want to inspire runners around the world to lay down their own INEOS 1:59 Challenge segment and attempt to match Eliud’s pace.
Can you run 352.6 metres in under 1 minute? Set yourself the challenge and see what you can achieve.

Training

To help you succeed, hear from from Eliud and his coach Patrick Sang for practical tips on how to build strength and speed, improve running technique and while warming up and cooling down really does matter.

Create your pace segment

1. Log into your account via the Strava website
2. In the menu click “Training” and then “My Activities”
3. Scroll down the list of activities and click on the one you wish to create a segment for
4. Under Segments see if one already existing for your selected route, if not click on the three dots … in the menu
5. Click Create segment
6. Use the slider to choose the start and end points of the selected segment
7. Click next
8. Name your segment INEOS 1:59 Pace Challenge and make the segment public
9. Click create, your segment is now created. Don’t forget to join the INEOS 1:59 Pace Challenge Club Page
